It’s time for Congress to use the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to remove Trump from office. Donald Trump’s raucous press conference raised many questions about his mental stability.
If anyone needed proof Trump’s inability to perform his duties as president, Thursday’s news conference would clear that doubt. It was 77 minutes of a madman repeating lie after lie.
He offended many in attendance, too. He asked a black reporter to set up a meeting for him with the Congressional Black Caucus as if, due to her race, she knew every member of the caucus.
After this blatant racism, he went on to say that he was “the least racist person” anyone in attendance knows. Too bad his actions do not back up his statements.
Trump then responded to a Jewish reporters question about the rise of Anit-Semitism in this country by telling him to sit down and be quiet. He followed by stating that he was “the least anti-Semitic person you have ever seen in your entire life.”
We all know that is a real lie. If Trump is so Anti-Semitic, why did he appoint Steve Bannon, an Anti-Semite, as a chief adviser?
The press was the next victim of Trump’s attack. He criticized media outlets as being unfair, except for Fox News.
So any news outlet that truthfully reports on his lies and corruption are fake but soft-questioners are great. Does Trump really believe the American people are dumb enough to believe this?
Probably one of Trump’s most humorous and pathetic statements came during the press roast. When reporter Jonathan Karl asked Trump about the leaks from his White House, he had a classically stupid response.
“Leaks are real, news is fake,” Trump said. So if reporters cover verified leaks, the news from them is fake? This guy needs professional counseling.
The highlight of the press conference came when Trump bragged about his Electoral College victory. The misinformed, narcissistic president repeated the lie that his Electoral College win was the largest since Reagan.
NBC’s Peter Alexander had enough of the lying and corrected Trump on his alternate fact. Alexander reminded Trump that both Presidents Obama and George H. W. Bush had larger margins than his.
Trump responded by saying that staff members gave him that information. Huh?
As Trevor Noah asked on the Daily Show, why would staff members have to give him information that was readily available on Google or any other search engine? Is he that clueless of anything relating to his election?
The clown show of a press conference continued with a question about WikiLeaks. CNN’s Jim Acosta “pointed out President Trump’s inconsistencies in pledging to hunt down White House leakers while praising WikiLeaks on the campaign trail for publishing the contents of email accounts associated with the Clinton campaign.”
Trump’s ignorant response was that WikiLeaks does not leak classified information. Twitter tore him a new one, though, by reminding the clueless Trump that Chelsea Manning leaked classified information through WikiLeaks and went to prison for it.
The entire press conference was a circus, with the unprepared barker, Trump, making a fool of himself. His responses to questions were belligerent, uninformed, and sounded like a confused middle-schooler in front of the class with his stuttering and double-talk.
This press conference displayed Trump’s ignorance of his job and that he suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It is time for Congress to consider the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.
This amendment lists the procedures for removing a president due to disability. Trump’s persistent lying at this press conference and during the past four weeks prove that he is mentally incapable of performing his duties.
We must demand an investigation of Trump’s mental fitness. Many professionals believe he is ill, and it is time to remove him from office by impeachment or the 25th Amendment.
If you agree that Trump’s performance at the news conference and as president exhibit mental illness, please share this article on your Facebook page.
