Donald Trump just utterly humiliated himself once again in a silly attempt at showing off during a press conference today with Italy’s Prime Minister. This is exactly the kind of vain, egotripping behavior that should’ve disqualified Trump from ever becoming president in the first place.
Trump was meeting with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni today at the White House, and one of the main events for the afternoon was supposed to be a joint press conference held by both Gentiloni and Trump. Naturally, Trump pathetically tried to toot his own horn but just ended up committing yet another one of his infamous gaffes.
“Through the ages, your country has been a beacon of artistic and scientific achievement,” Trump said to Gentiloni, reading from a teleprompter. “From Venice to Florence, from Verdi to Pavarotti.”
But this is when things went so, so wrong for the Orange One. Trump looked up from the prompt and, unwisely wavering from his script, braggingly referred to Pavarotti as a “friend of mine. Great friend of mine.”
That’s when everyone in the crowd, from Gentiloni to all the members of the White House press pool, were shocked. That’s because Trump had just humiliated himself, seeing as how Pavarotti has been dead for over a DECADE.
This gaffe is obnoxiously embarrassing, both for Trump and for the American people. If you thought that world leaders didn’t respect Trump and his buffoonery before, Trump’s friendship with the ghost of Pavarotti is sure to seal the deal.
It’s been a bad two weeks for Trump’s memory, that’s for sure. First he forgot that he bombed Syria instead of Iraq, then he lost where a massive U.S. carrier group was located, and now he’s forgotten that his “friend” has been dead for ten years.
Trump’s utter humiliation at this press conference would be humorous if the repercussions weren’t so damn serious. The American people are now faced with enduring a president whose cognitive skills are OBVIOUSLY degrading, and quickly at that.
Trump gives a shout out to Pavarotti, calls him "a good friend of mine".

There’s no question that Trump’s Pavarotti gaffe is just the latest indication that he’s suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s. President Reagan began suffering from the disease in his final years in office, but Trump’s seemingly suffering from it during his first 100 days.
America deserves a president who has a bright mind and sharp resolve. Trump has NEITHER, and he’s embarrassing the American people accordingly.

Obama didn’t embarrass the American people once, yet Trump’s embarrassing us multiple times each and every day. It’s time for the Resistance to put a stop to this madness by tirelessly lobbying our elected officials until impeaching the Orange Tyrant is a done deal.
