19 Republican Members of Congress who previously opposed Trumpcare were PAID to change their vote and pass the horrendous bill. The GOP doesn’t represent Americans; they are bought and sold by major lobbyists.
Trumpcare 2.0 barely passed in the House with a vote of 217 for, 213 against, and 1 abstention. Of the 217, there were 19 members of Congress who are aligned with the Freedom Caucus.
Those 19 Congresspeople have all received healthy donations from health insurance providers, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, health technology producers or all of the above. After initially opposing Trumpcare, they sided with the majority last week.
Is it any wonder why they switched their votes? These major companies would see huge financial benefits if Trumpcare became law, so they paid off conservatives.
Mo Brooks (R-AL) rose to infamy last week for suggesting that people who “lead good lives” should pay less for their healthcare than those who are unhealthy. In his six years of serving in Congress, he’s received $15,000 in donations from Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Republican Representatives Bill Posey (R-FL), Rod Blue (R-IA), Justin Amash (R-MI), Steve Pearce (R-NM) and a dozen others who voted yes on Trumpcare have received tens of thousands in political contributions from companies with a vested interest in killing the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare.
Analysts predict that the Trumpcare bill will die in the Senate and will not pass. But there are a lot of healthcare companies out there with a lot of money who are hoping to change that.
Since 2009, Obamacare cut down on the number of uninsured Americans by 20 million. It also prevents people with pre-existing conditions from being denied healthcare.
A study conducted by Harvard shows that the Affordable Care Act literally saves tens of thousands of lives in America every single year. However, it’s much more lucrative for health insurance companies and healthcare providers if this legislation does not exist.
That’s why Republicans have voted to repeal Obamacare more than 50 times since it was signed into law. Lately, Trump has led the charge to get rid of the Affordable Care Act.

Since Trump’s election, the internet is full of headlines detailing stories of people who voted for Trump and now will lose their healthcare — and they’re full of regrets as a result. When you don’t vote for people who represent your interests, this is what happens.
Congress is also full of people who don’t represent the best interests of the people. Voting records and financial numbers suggest that there are at least 19 people in Congress who will vote on the side of campaign contributions over the people they represent.
Let’s all ensure that the Senators don’t choose to do the same. Call your Senators and let them know that the Resistance is watching.
We will not tolerate officials who are bought and sold by major insurance companies and the like. They should vote to protect the people, not the bottom line.
Spread this story, make sure everyone knows about what’s really going on in Congress and how much a Congressional vote actually costs. Big business can possibly buy the House of Representatives…but it can’t buy you.
