Donald Trump was ruthless in his rebuke of Meryl Streep for daring to speak the truth about him. More celebrities, however, are stepping up to stand with Streep after Trump attacked her on Twitter.
George Clooney is the latest celebrity to join the fray. The actor slammed the President-elect on Monday for his comments about Streep.
Clooney made the comments at a Clooney Foundation event that celebrated the Netflix film “White Helmets.” He couldn’t help poking fun at Trump for his ridiculous comments about Streep.
Clooney said sarcastically, “I’ve always said that about Meryl. She’s maybe the most overrated actress of all-time.”
“She and I worked together on Fantastic Mr. Fox as husband and wife and I will tell you even as a fox, a female fox, she’s overrated.” Clooney then asked Trump, “Aren’t you supposed to be running the country?”
Clooney raises a good point about Trump. The man should be getting ready to take over the White House, instead of tweeting about every perceived slight.
But Trump can’t seem to help himself. He lost it when Streep called him out during her Golden Globes acceptance speech for mocking a disabled reporter.
Trump started a twitter rampage against Streep. He denied mocking the reporter again, despite the fact that there is video footage showing him doing exactly that.
Trump is unstable and completely divorced from reality. His comments make him look like a spoiled child instead of an incoming president.
Celebrities like Ron Howard and George Clooney are showing that Trump is just an insecure bully that needs to be stood up to. Join them by sharing this story on Facebook.
