We’ve been talking about the heroic leadership of Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders a lot lately. Well, it’s about time we add New Jersey Senator Cory Booker to that list as well.
Booker just went off on Paul Ryan for Ryan’s disgusting plans to cut Planned Parenthood. He’s demanding that all Americans stand up to oppose this radical maneuver of the Republicans.
What’s at stake here is the Republican’s insane desire to repeal Obamacare. If Obamacare gets destroyed, then funding or Planned Parenthood will also be forcibly washed up.
So what else could Booker do but simply go off? Someone has to stand up for working class Americans, and Team Trump certainly isn’t going to do it.
“Republicans now think they’re elected with a mandate to do these kind of things,” Booker said. “I saw just this week the craven overreach of the Republican Party when they tried … to gut Independent Ethics Oversight.”
Honestly, Booker made great point after great point. One highlight was when he said, “We didn’t elect anybody to rip out the key preventive services to make it harder to be someone struggling in this country.”
“Because this cannot be allowed to happen,” Booker continued. “Too many people will suffer…The consequences will be felt by all.”
Kudos to Booker. Just like Joe Biden’s presidential ambitions, we’d love to see Booker in the conversation for the presidency in 2020.
Please share this story on Facebook. America needs to know who it’s real heroes are, and Booker’s certainly one of them.
